Outlook Theater Casting Call and Upcoming Events

Casting Call on
Monday, May 11th, 10am-12pm


We are looking for actors to participate in This Many People, a workshop performance of scenes from a new play-in-progress based upon the personal histories of Bay Area LGBT Seniors.

Performances will be held at The Garage in SF as part of the National Queer Arts Festival, and are an opportunity to participate in a professional community-based theater project, with potential for casting in the world premiere performances in October-November 2009.

Details:

Matthew: gay man, 30's, race not important, self-centered but not selfish. A romantic who has never really been challenged by life...until now.

Clarence: a gay man, 70's or 80's, African American, loves life and is not afraid to tell you all about it.

Rehearsals: 5/21, 5/25, 5/28, 5/30 (tech), afternoons
Shows: 5/31 and 6/1, 8pm

Non-Equity. Stipend.

The audition, rehearsals, and performances will all take place at The Garage, 975 Howard St, San Francisco.

What do we know about the lives of those who came before us in the struggle for acceptance?

How do different generations in the LGBT community learn about each other?

The OutLook ensemble performs excerpts of a new play-in-progress based upon the personal histories of Bay Area LGBT Seniors. Material from the play has been generated through OutLook's collaboration with New Leaf Outreach to Elders and Lavender Seniors of the East Bay.

OutLook Theater Project (OLTP) is a newly formed, ensemble-based company that creates original performance about relevant issues from a queer perspective.
